Dear Music…

Posted in Uncategorized by acidsquid on October 5, 2008

Alright people, we brought back rave anthems, and now you wanna bring back disco? Well, I guess it’s already back…kinda. All the flyers I keep seeing posted stating “Disco All Night”, “Classic Disco”, etc…it’s making my heart hurt. It’s bad enough I haven’t been able to update my iPod for like a fucking year, and going out to hear decent music is far from an option these days. Now you wanna do this? The stock market crash ain’t got shit on the state of music today. The worst part about it, the fashion that follows. All these pretty girls running around dressed to the nine like some sort of walking all night coke binge. Party Pixters documenting the situation like a natural disaster unfolding around us. Hipsters will be trading in their “skinny” jeans for white pants, and Ghostface will be dropping the Abba Orro Mixtape this fall. God help us.

Squarepusher “I Wish You Could Talk”

This is a great “non-official” video for Squarepusher’s “I Wish You Could Talk” from his 2001 album “Go Plastic”. This is probably one of my all time favorite albums. Squarepusher has been a staple in the genre of IDM music alongside other IDM geniuses like µ-Ziq

Holy Shit, this is awwwesome.

So this is my homey Project Matt. This is my homey, Project Matt…back in the day. This is what I wish my homey Project Matt still looked like.

He must be high off that sherm.

Ryan McGinley for NY Times Magazine

Posted in moving pictures by acidsquid on October 1, 2008

This is kind of old, but great.

For those of you not familiar with Ryan McGinley, he gripped the juice of having been the youngest person (26) to have a solo exhibit at the famous Whitney Museum.
